Pantomimes

Pantomime in England feels like a rite of passage for a performer. The shows are high energy family friendly musicals based on a classic fairy tale; With heavy audience participation, slapstick humour and chaotic comedy routines, it’s a typical Christmas tradition for most of the country. For the performers in these shows, it’s often a gruelling schedule of three show days, starting at 9am with school audiences right up to a matinee performance on Christmas Eve, after which many scramble to get home to their families for Christmas Day, only to rush back for their next show on the 26th! But once the season is done, you’re left with a blur of happy memories and funny anecdotes from the whole experience. Olivia has performed in two Pantomimes over the years: Beauty and the Beast, where she appeared as Belle, and Jack in the Beanstalk, as Daisy, the singing, dancing, guitar playing… cow!
