Heartbreak Hotel
This show marked Olivia’s debut US performance and it did not disappoint! Dinner Theatre is a bit of a foreign concept in the UK, so Olivia wasn’t sure what to expect, but the cast, crew and creative team in Indiana were such a delight. They welcomed Olivia with open arms and she thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. Once again, Olivia was able to work alongside her husband Ben, something she never takes for granted having spent so long in a long-distance relationship. This was the first time Olivia had been hired as a swing, although looking back, she feels she had been preparing for this role for decades. Even at the age of 8 in her first amateur dramatics show of Annie, though cast as the orphan Tessie, Olivia learnt all the lines and blocking of the titular role and would regularly perform the show as Annie at home to her family. Fast forward to this contract and Olivia loved the challenge of learning three different female roles and found organising her “swing bible” to be a very satisfying process.
